Let's be honest, the silly people who want all this nonsense already have ready access to it in the various post-Protestant assemblies. But they are not satisfied with that, and so they seek to take away from serious Christians any ready access to the rites and teachings of the Catholic Church. The silly people active in Catholic parishes and Vatican dicasteries are all thieves and robbers.

What a great VII moment, the smiling remnant of Catholics who used to attend happy, clapping and participating! Then, to top things off, open dissent, intercommunion with a non-Catholic/non-Orthodox and catholic clergy being prideful regarding this 'momentum'.

Now, if at your average parish, father gets too traditional with the Agnus Dei in Latin, incense and Roman style vestments (a maniple might cause some to require counseling), by 8 a.m. the following day, headquarters downtown has already received the complaints and a terse correction has already been provided. There is such an inequity in our increasingly divided and, at times, disturbing church! What about those who still pray, pay and OBEY???

ByzRC, they are screwed. If you ignore the silly happy talk by the aging lefties in the Church, the institutional Catholic Church in the US is on the verge of collapse. Vatican Disaster II has done wonders! Following the consolidation of parishes, we will probably begin to see the consolidation of Dioceses

ByzRC,

You're exactly right. There's zero tolerance for middle-ground clergy and faithful, but limitless tolerance for irreverent and otherwise wayward clerics.

A bit off topic, but a British scholar exposes "Cardinal" Cupich as a vapid:

Bee here:

All those poor people jammed into pews for two hours and no beer or food being served? Gosh, what were those clergy thinking???? I think next year they need to sell food and beer too. The waiters/waitresses could go up and down the aisles selling mugs of beer and brats on sticks. Oh, the Eucharistic fast? No problem. They seem able to dispense with all the other "rules" of the Church; I can't imagine there'd be any problem with that. And of course they'll need a lot more Port-a-Potties in the back and along the side aisles. But what the heck...

(Gee, and to think I get worked up when a priest says "Good morning everybody." :-) )

God bless.

TJM,

Spot on. And I suspect that if we really knew how relative practically all in the Church viewed doctrine and morality, we would be shocked even more.

Cardinal Blaise Cupich is correct : with Vatican Council II interpreted with Cushingism a paradigm shift can be created

TJM,

Fr Hunwicke has been running a series of posts on Cardinal Cupich's visit to Cambridge, which are worth looking at. It's good to know that the slippery 'Soap-dish' didn't get it all his own way.

John Nolan,

Thanks for mentioning Fr. Hunwicke. Our prior archbishop, Cardinal George, was a wonderful man and a great intellectual, Cupich is neither. He is also petty. When Cardinal George would go to a traditional parish in Chicago that celebrates Mass ad orientem, Cardinal George would follow the parish's practice. Cupich, a very ungracious man, refused to do so, to the shock and dismay of the congregation. No one is more illiberal than a liberal.
