Father Barron makes some very good points. Clearly, there have to be limits to diversity and inclusivity, indeed even to tolerance, or else barbarism is just around the corner. Presumably, the needed gift is discernment.
I have now read the Presiding Bishop’s sermon, and she makes some very good points too – as well as some rather bad ones that have upset many Episcopalians. Pope Francis and she would doubtless agree on much, but certainly not everything.

There you go again, Gene. I have no idea what she has or has not said elsewhere. Indeed, this sermon is the first thing I have read of hers and I was merely reacting to that. Period.
St. Paul does have a way of perplexing many people. The first two paragraphs of Galatians speak about this exact sort of thing. There is nothing new under the sun, is there?

We have tolerated the intolerable for so long that the masses have forgotten just what IS intolerable.

As I was pleased to hear recently in a homily: "Tolerance is not a Christian virtue."
Well, no impassioned defense of Jefferts Schori...tsk,tsk. How disappointing...LOL!
