BOMBSHELL: POPE FRANCIS TO CELEBRATE EXTRAORDINARY FORM OF THE SOLEMN SUNG MASS!

APRIL FOOLS!

But Saint Joseph Church in Macon, Georgia sure did and that is not April Fools. We did so on March 19th for our patron's Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Of course Saint Joseph is the patron of the Universal Church as well. And March 19th was the day of Pope Francis' inaugural Mass in Rome.

So our St. Joseph EF Solemn Sung Mass, with deacon and subdeacon was offered for His Holiness and his intentions. The recessional hymn was "Long Live the Pope."

Our combined choirs sang the "Schubert Mass in G."

Father Dawid Kwiatkowski is the deacon. Deacon Don Coates is the sub-deacon and yours truly the celebrant.

The combined choirs are under the direction of our Director of Music, Ms. Nelda Chapman assisted by our assistant organist Harold McManus. The primary cantor is Mr. Beau Palmer. The other soloists are Kimberly Dykes, Soprano, Kerrell Goolsby, Baritone and Susanna Kimbell, Soprano.

The collection for the Mass was taken up for "Daybreak" in honor of Pope Francis. Daybreak is a ministry of DePaul USA and founded by our very own Sister Elizabeth Grim, Daughter of Charity. It is a daycare facility of the homeless in downtown Macon allowing them a place to stay during the day, take a shower, wash their clothes, find counseling and medical assistance and receive rehabilitation. In short it is simply wonderful and a collaborative effort between Catholics, Protestants, Jews and Muslims and those of no religious affiliation!

Once again I thank Mr.Lovel Miguel, former parishioner now residing in Houston, Texas for converting our video to an embedded code for me to place on my little old blog!

Bombshell: Pater Ignotus to convert to Unitarian Universalist Church in keeping with his true theology and become social worker...purchases new Chevy Volt. ...April Fool

Not an April Fool's, but a legitimate question for Fr Allen's "clairvoyance":

Do you think Pope Francis, in union will all the world's bishops, will make the conscecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary this Oct 13, 2013?

In an attempt to make the liturgy more accessible to children and young people, it was announced this morning that Pope Francis will soon be introducing 'Pirate-themed Masses'

Vatican spokesman Aprilio Fuello said 'the new themed Masses will be another option for priests alongside the Ordinary and Extraordinary forms of the Roman Rite.'

When asked about the cost of new Missals on increasingly impoverished parishes, he defended the move saying 'this shouldn't mean parishes have to buy expensive new Missals or that the lay faithful have to buy new people's missals, as the new pirate Masses will be essentially the same as the Ordinary form of the Roman Rite. All that's different is that instead of Amen, people simply say YARRR!'

If the pirate Masses prove successful the Vatican are planning to roll out other Masses in the future including 'gangsta' and 'disney'

It is hoped that the new Masses will animate the liturgy for young

Having watched the video, one or two rubrical quibbles (I assume the EF means the 1962 Missal).

- The altar should be censed before the Introit is read.
- Incensation is first to the epistle side, then to the gospel side, then back to the epistle side, genuflecting if passing in front of the Bl. Sacrament in the tabernacle.
- The deacon may not omit the osculations (this was a 1965 revision)
- The subdeacon should hold the paten in a humeral veil from the Offertory to the Pater Noster. (this requirement was only ended in 1965).

These and other liturgical solecisms could be avoided if you had a decent MC.

BOMBSHELL
Pope Benedict Returns from Retirement
Joseph Ratzinger made the announcement over the phone to representatives of the Italian Press. "I figured I owed you guys one for that Vatileaks episode." Pope Francis was contacted by a reporter who knocked on the Papal Barracks. "Yeah, that little guy is a genius! When he called to run the idea by me I jumped at the chance. This is one for the ages. I can't talk more right now. I gotta finish cleaning up before I clear out." Pope Francis said he will get to keep the name appended with Emeritus as had been used by Pope Benedict XVI. "I can't wait to see the look on President Kirchner's face when I get back to Argentina. She's gonna plotz!" Ratzinger will now be known as Pope Benedict XVII although members of the Swiss Guard have been using the code words "Like a Boss" since the announcement.

The ad I got before the video played was for Chuck E. Cheese's. Coincidence?

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Thank God that it wasn't an ad for the Mormoms which I've seen with my videos

Van:

I can't speak for Fr. McDonald, but that sudden serious gloomy look he noticed on the new pope may just be attributable to recently reading the entire Third Secret of Fatima. From what I've heard, it has a way of ruining a pope's day.

As a Form of the Roman Rite the sad thing is that it would be considered a joke to say he would do it.

Anonymous, what does the third secret actually say?

The third secret: "Lourdes was a hoax."

I've been an administrator on a website before, and the IP addresses of the posts are visible to the admins. I would be most curious to see who the "anonymous" poster is who declares the miracles at Lourdes a hoax. I wonder if the IP address of teh poster matches the IP address of named posters. If it was a "joke" then post your name and own it.

We don't know the entire text of the Third Secret because it has never been released to the public. The few who have read it in its entirety have affirmed that it is terrible. The Vatican apparatus of Cardinal Sodano and, later, Cardinal Bertone have tried to sell us their official "Message of Fatima" (MOF) version, which falls far short of what we know about this secret from the various descriptions of papal secretaries. Pope Benedict himself broke the "party-line" when he said that anyone who thinks the message of Fatima refers only to the past is deceiving himself. He said that it is being played out in the Church during the present day. When he was a cardinal, Ratzinger also said that the Third Secret was essentially the same as the message of Akita Japan. I suggest looking up the Akita prophecies. It's very, very disturbing.

After his resignation was announced, Pope Benedict said this to some seminarians he was visiting. I think these words can help us:

"The false optimism was that after the Council, when the convents were closing, the seminaries were closing, and they were saying: but it's nothing, everything's fine...
No! Everything is not fine.
There are also grave, dangerous downfalls, and we must recognize with healthy realism that this is not all right, it is not all right when wrongful things are done. But also to be sure, at the same time, that if here and there the Church is dying because of the sins of men, because of their unbelief, at the same time it is being born anew.
The future really does belong to God: this is the great certainty of our life, the great, true optimism that we know. The Church is the tree of God that lives forever and bears within itself eternity and the true inheritance: eternal life.”

I think it was tongue in cheek or April Fools or meant to be funny.

And Mary recently appeared at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, and said, "Build a BEAUTIFUL church on this spot..."
