Utter nonsense!

I prefer to just spray (pump, not aerosol) Febreze around the sanctuary. Three double pumps, in the traditional way.

As for votive candles, we just keep a flashlight on a table for people to turn on and point at the image of whichever saint they're talking to. It's rechargeable.

Actually, before self-igniting charcoal (the stuff that spits sparks all over the place) ignition could be a protracted process.

I remember at age 8 being boat-boy to a 16-year old thurifer. After the Gospel we would repair to the sacristy so that he could relight the disc and have a cigarette into the bargain. The best bit was that we both missed the sermon - always an advantage!

So I see (so far) there are no comments from anyone here who is "incensed" about this. Or as is said down here in the South, "fired up".

I was just about to write some snappy comment when I saw what you wrote and LOL!!!!, so much so, I forgot my own comment.

Good one (especially about the flashlight!)

One must still adhere to the Truth even if surrounded by fakery: fake plants, fake stained glass, fake hymnals...

It would work a treat with the holy host dispenser:

For the love of God, no!

I actually love the smell of years upon years of incense in older churches. That's years upon years of our prayers wafting up like incense.

Father, I've been wondering, what incense is used at St Jo's? It's my favourite scent.

Father, where can I purchase it?

I don't really know; I suppose and religeous goods store that sell charcoal and incense.
