POPE FRANCIS DISARMS THE PROGRESSIVES AND RALLIES THE TRADITIONALISTS--HIS ELECTION IS BECOMING THE GOOD NEWS IT ALWAYS WAS! GOD IS GREAT!

I PREDICT THAT POPE FRANCIS WILL ONE DAY BE POPE ST. FRANCIS THE GREAT FOR REFORMING THE CLERGY, THE RELIGIOUS AND THE LAITY AND CONDEMNING THE SIN OF CLERICALISM THAT FOR THE LAITY CAN BE MANIFESTED IN THE LITURGY!

Pope Francis is a no nonsense pope and thoroughly Catholic in the odd combination of being both Jesuit and Franciscan.

He is going to reform the Church, not her faith and morals, but Catholics who are called to be faithful to the Magisterium of the Church and obedient to the Faith and Morals of the Church. You can't go wrong there! The LCWR learned that today and their idiocy concerning the direction of religious life was given a brutal but loving death knell today!

He is going to reform the clergy, the religious and the laity, after all we are the Church and in all three cases there is serious need for reform given the loss of Catholic identity that has occurred since Vatican II! What better way to celebrate the "Year of Faith" and that means strict Catholic Faith, not some "spirit of Vatican II" concoction of some other kind of faith which is and has been and always will be bogus. And all this on the 50th anniversary of Vatican II! Can it get any sweeter?

And Pope Francis has constantly referred to Satan in his short month as pope. I don't know if Pope Benedict ever did that, but I could be wrong! He referred to Satan today again and referred to our Blessed Mother too, in his daily homily which has become a part of his Magisterium. Here is a quote:

"We are all sinners; all of us. We all commit sins. But calumny is something else. It is of course a sin, too, but it is something more. Calumny aims to destroy the work of God, and calumny comes from a very evil thing: it is born of hatred. And hate is the work of Satan. Calumny destroys the work of God in people, in their souls. Calumny uses lies to get ahead. And let us be in no doubt, eh?: Where there is calumny, there is Satan himself. "

And again Pope Francis repeated “The age of martyrs is not yet over, the Church has more martyrs now than during the first centuries". This age of “such great spiritual turmoil” reminded the Pope of an ancient Russian icon that depicts Our Lady covering the people of God with her mantle:

"We pray to Our Lady to protect us, and in times of spiritual turbulence the safest place is under the mantle of Our Lady. She is the mother who takes care of the Church. And in this time of martyrs, she is the protagonist, the protagonist of protection: She is the Mother. (...) Let us state with faith: Mother, the Church is under your protection: Care for the Church.
'"

Folks, priests, religious and laity, fasten your seat belts. Your and my reform has only begun by this pope and it may well lead to "martyrdom" if we are faithful to our Church and our Lord Jesus Christ. How exciting is that!

By the way the secular press is all over the news story about Pope Francis cracking down on LCWR. I SUGGEST THE HONEYMOON IS NOW OVER WITH THE SECULAR PRESS AND LIBERAL CATHOLICS! GOD IS GOOD!

READ THE ASSOCIATED PRESS RELEASE ON, GET THIS, POPE FRANCIS SUPPORTS CRACKDOWN ON US NUNS (THEIR TITLE, NOT MINE!)PRESS HERE!

WOW, HOW DISARMING IS IT THAT THE HOLY FATHER FORGOES THE TRAPPINGS OF HIS OFFICE ONLY TO REINFORCE WHAT THESE REPRESENT! WHO KNEW THAT THIS IS POPE FRANCIS IN FACT NOT IN THE STYLE OF PAPACY:

Don't hold back, Father, tell us what you really think! ;)

It is excellent and inspiring to see that Pope Francis appears unwilling to budge on the CDF evaluation of the LCWR. We need an end to public scandals, and numerous of these sisters are certainly causing scandal.

But, what kind of discipline will be administered? How seriously will this Pope come down on Bishops who defy him and who tolerate the teaching of error, the winking at dogma, and the mockery that is made of the Liturgy? That is what counts. It is all well and good to talk tough. Anybody can do that...so, he can growl, but will he bite?

Discipline? My guess is that simply being required to honor their vow of obedience will be sufficient to make them wail and gnash their teeth. I could hope they might also be required to return to the wearing of habits, but I would be thrilled if they were simply given the choice between obedience and departure.

If that seems uncharitable, so be it. Charity, rightly understood, cannot tolerate disobedience to holy vows.

Gene, Pope Francis might have insight enough to know what really 'hurts'. People who fight against the Church revel in their secular martyrdom. They love it when they can play the victim in their chastisement because they think the spotlight is their halo. But take away a simple privileged, an office, some authority that does not alter the course of a breeze and they will scream as if, well, as if that nasty little demon that inhabits their innards is being drawn out like a sick tooth.

RCG, We are past being interested in their psychodynamics. They simply need to be gone...whether they go quietly or kicking and screaming, I don't care.

William, Stop worrying about being uncharitable to the enemies of the Church.

Gene, I am free from worry on that score. ;) Let the chips fall where they may. My comment was intended to preempt any criticisms on that line.
