As a Biretta would be appropriate in this situation, is it a personal choice that you do not wear one (meaning you don't care for them)?

Just sayin': Such a beautiful church! Too bad you don't do away with the free standing altar/table. Those splendid candle holders could be returned to their rightful places. What ever happened to the communion rail? All liturgical correctness aside--violence has been done to the architectural integrity of that splendid building.

William, I've asked many of these same questions myself so allow me. Father McDonald came to St Joe's as the renovations were in progress in 05. It's sad to me that if the renovation had been a few years later things might have been different in light of SP in 07. Water under the bridge of course. The table altar replaced a much less beautiful one, and the choice of removing the altar rail was driven by the fact that unlike the rest of the building the railing was not high quality marble and was becoming a maintenance issue. The table altar is probably here for the balance of my life time unless the FSSP are given the Parish, but the railing could be restored. There are many available for sale from closed Parishes.

It is not appropriate to wear the biretta in a Eucharistic procession.
