I DEMAND THAT MASS BE IN ITALIAN, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE IN THE WHOLE WORLD, AND AD ORIENTEM!

Why in the world would people despise Mass ad orientem, "facing God," and in Italian? Italian is the best language in all of the world and far surpasses that yucky Latin and horrible English translation! The Holy Father models for us the way the Mass should be everywhere!

The Italian words of consecration of the chalice are like our current English, "for you and for all" (per tutti). I suspect the Italian words will change eventually.

I had an Italian Priest tell me once that, "Italian is just bad Latin." LOL!

He was mistaken, it is just the opposite, Latin is bad Italian!

At my old parish, the two priests (Barnabites) were both from Milan. They offered the Mass in Italian once a month and I loved listening to them speak. I understood about 20% of the homily thanks to a bit of college Spanish, but here's the strange thing: Once a month they also offered the Novus Ordo in Latin, with a schola providing the music. It was hauntingly beautiful, but they insisted that there was no way they were going to offer a traditional Latin Mass. They were both fine priests, but the TLM was a real stumbling block for both of them.

Go figure.
